Ramy Youssef, writer, actor and comedian
Ramy is an actor, comedian, and director from New Jersey. Ramy sold an original half-hour format in which he stars to Hulu; which has recently been picked up to series. Jerrod Carmichael and A24 are producing alongside him. He previously filmed a recurring role in the third season of Mr. Robot, and he made his late-night stand-up debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He started his professional acting career as a series regular on Nick at Nite’s See Dad Run opposite Scott Baio, and he was most recently seen in the 20th Century Fox comedy Why Him? Ramy has directed music videos such as Jet Lag Gemini’s Fit to Be Tied, which aired on MTV networks and Fuse. Ramy is a classically trained actor, having trained at both William Esper Studio and Rutgers.

Springborn has played an integral role in developing and greenlighting straight-to-series orders for Hulu’s acclaimed and award-winning originals, including freshman series Ramy. Youssef, stars in Hulu’s Original Series, Ramy, which follows first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan, who is on a spiritual journey in his politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. Ramy brings a new perspective to the screen as it explores the challenges of what it’s like to be caught between a Muslim community who believes life is a moral test and a millennial generation that thinks life has no consequences.
Ramy is written, executive produced, created by and stars Youssef, executive produced by Jerrod Carmichael, A24’s Ravi Nandan, co-creators Ari Katcher and Ryan Welch, and produced by A24.
